Aquarius Films is a multi award-winning production company which has built a reputation for bold, female-led films and television series for global audiences. Aquarius and Cobox share a creative studio space in Redfern and have enjoyed collaborating over the years. In June 2021 with the premiere of their upcoming series ‘The Unusual Suspects’ fast-approaching, Aquarius asked our team to create the official trailer for the big TV release.
We were tasked with creating two separate trailers, the first being a marketing and sales trailer to appeal to broadcast and distribution channels globally. The second, was the official broadcast release trailer for SBS. We worked closely with Angie Fielder and Polly Staniford from Aquarius films, who found the convenience of being able to produce the trailer efficiently, in-house.
Our team thoroughly enjoyed working closely with our studio-mates and were thrilled to see the overwhelmingly positive response to the series. With huge viewing numbers on SBS, ‘The Unusual Suspects’ went on to receive a nomination for Best Miniseries or Tele-feature at the 2021 AACTA Awards for its warm funny and utterly gripping story telling.
We at Cobox, love creating trailers. Telling stories is what we do best, especially in the producing and editing space. Our senior producer Sarah Linton drove the cretive, helping our team pull together an engaging story arc and scripts; while editor Mat Evans and our in-house post-production team brought the vision together seamlessley. We received great feedback from our friends at Aquarius Films and have since kicked off work creating another trailer for an upcoming Aquarius Films series, watch this space!
